5/ this is what happened;
I had organised prom car for my son n his friends months ago through a friend, we were having a Rolls Royce convertible n boys were excited .
Prom was on Thursday n I had a call Wednesday day before prom to say that the car we had organised had been sold suddenly so was not going to be able to used for prom , I was in shock as I didn’t know what to do as my son n his friends would be so gutted and sad ..
Their prom entrance was something they were looking forward to and this would have been devastating for them as it was literally so last minute. I had no time to organise anything else, I had rang a few people for ideas but nobody had any ideas. At this point I had not told the boys or their parents as I was hosting a pre party at mine n then the carsl was collecting them, we had a professional photographer booked it was literally like “oh no” what am I going to do..
So I had to sit my son down n tell him that nothing I could do n this is what’s happened , bless him he was like don’t worry mom , I could see he was upset n he went outside to have some time out to play footie on the green .. bout 6pm ish my son came running home saying he had seen our local Bobby Pc Paul Darbyshire n had told him what had happened he had said leave it with me n Il see if I can do anything ..
Thursday morning day of prom and we had no transport or idea of anything n then I had a knock at my door from PC Darbyshire who said he saw Massimo was upset so had spoke to his colleagues n when he finished his shift today he would stay over after n get massimo to the prom in saying “you will go to prom” he had to get approval from big bosses which he did then himself and 2 other colleagues who were all off duty volunteered which I had no clue until 6.30 when the big riot van turned up outside our house! We were like WOW WOW WOW , my sons friend & parents had no clue they thought we were still having car but as I don’t really have a clue what was happening I just thought I will leave till 6.30 and literally see what happens lol
So to say it was amazing is an understatement, the local police were off duty and to do this out of the kindness of their hearts was just unreal it really brought a big community spirit.
Then the boys decided to put pillowcases on their heads so that when they pulled up at a Hogarths everyone would be like oooo who’s that to add an element of surprise.
The police were amazing and helped the boys have the most amazing prom , they really don’t realise how much we appreciated this.
